Research Pays Off: the Sulon-style Henley

As I continue to refine my personas, further recent research has turned up what I believe represents true Sulon local style for my Rebel impression. Per the live-action cutscenes in Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight, we know that a Henley style shirt was worn by both Kyle and Morgan Katarn!:
MorganKKatarn henley buttonsThe hologram in question commemorates Kyle’s departure for the Imperial Academy, c. 4 BBY, and he also wears a roughly similar style nine years later in 5 ABY, possibly as a throwback or in recognition of his Sulon upbringing?Of course, the observant viewer will notice that the Katarns’ shirts feature visible buttons, which would seem to go against Lucas’s “major decree” when it comes to clothing in the GFFA:
(“George didn’t want any fastenings to show, he didn’t want to see buttons, he didn’t want to see zips, so we used stuff like Velcro, and things were just wrapped over and tied with a belt….” (Alinger 2015, p.15, and Rinzler 2007, p.125.)

In this case, however, I think we can chalk up this discrepancy to sloppiness and/or the relatively low budget of the LucasArts costume department c.1997?

Right after making this breakthrough, I was fortunate to snatch up the perfect off-white Henley at my local thrift store ($1.25ish):

What do you think? It’s a little plain and needs an extra layer on top, but when it comes to local styles, you really can’t go wrong with something that comes from primary sources!
